Marina was born in Seville, Spain, and began her musical career at the age of 8, studying at the Elementary Conservatory of Music in Utrera (Conservatorio Elemental de Música). . After studying saxophone and piano, she obtained a degree in Orchestra Conducting awarded with the Extraordinary Mention. She attended master classes at the world's most prestigious musical centers, such as Accademia Musicale Chigiana or Berklee College of Music.

She has studied together with experts such as Ángel Luis Pérez, Bruno Aprea, Daniel Antolì i Plaza, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Rafa Sanz-Espert, Francisco José Martín Jaime. She received master classes from Barry Douglas, Marie-Bernadette Charrier, George Hurst and Denise Ham.
Jazz is one of her passions, She discovered the world of jazz thanks to José Iglesias, Professor at the Conservatory of Music of Málaga (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga). After following his Anglo-Saxon nomenclature and light music arrangement lessons, she joined Big Band of the Conservatory as saxophonist for three years. Subsequently, she established a band called “Matadero 4tet” together with Carlos López (on the electric guitar), Juan José Reca (on the keyboards) and Lester Rodriguez (on the drums) This quartet covered a repertoire characterized by jazz standards, bossa nova, Latin rhythms or blues.
